Fabricoil looks like traditional woven metal mesh and performs like woven metal mesh, but it's far more affordable. This affordability lets architects and designers flex their creativity, creating signature interiors and exteriors, and turning projects with even very modest budgets into something special.

Fabricoil is a material that stirs the imagination of architects and designers. It provides color and texture, reacts beautifully to light, and is flexible and formable. Simultaneously open and closed, panels of Fabricoil perform myriad functions in virtually any application and are available in unlimited widths up to 40 feet in length.

Compared to traditional woven metal mesh, Fabricoil gives you far greater design flexibility to meet your specific vision, functional requirements, and budget. You choose the material (stainless, aluminum, brass, etc.), gauge, color, coating/finish, weave thickness, open area, engineered attachment system, and more.

All Fabricoil weaves share the same fundamental geometry, created by interlocking individual strands of spiraled wire.

All Fabricoil weaves share the same fundamental geometry, created by interlocking individual strands of spiraled wire. What varies widely is Fabricoil’s scale. The weave you select impacts the material’s percentage of open area (from 40% to 85%), textured appearance, thickness (from 3/32” to 5/8”), wire gauge (from 14 to 21), and ultimate strength. Your knowledgeable Cascade Architectural representative is ready to help you select the perfect weave for your application.

Presentation is Paramount. Durable custom finishes for every component of your Fabricoil system.

Cascade Architectural offers custom coatings and finishes for both Fabricoil weaves and attachment systems. Fabricoil weaves are sprayed and protected with durable low-VOC lacquer finishes, designer "metaltone" powder finishes, and acrylic lacquers. All coatings are available in a wide range of custom colors – matched to your paint codes in order to meet your precise application and design requirements.

For added protection, powder-coated finishes are available for specialty exterior and interior architectural applications using larger stainless steel and aluminum weaves. Kynar coatings and anodized finishes for larger aluminum weaves are also available for specialty applications. Coatings are expertly applied in-house where quality is tightly controlled.

As a flexible architectural fabric, Fabricoil can be applied to an application in a variety of ways.

Utilizing Cascade Architectural pre-engineered Fabricoil attachment systems, Fabricoil can be tensioned flat or easily take on the contours of any substructure to which it is affixed.

Fabricoil can create a billowing drapery effect by using more material than what is required to cover a given area.

This effect is called "fullness" and is expressed as a percentage of additional material. Acceptable range for fullness is 15-200%.

Fabricoil is available in 12 standard Metaltone finishes that can be sprayed over steel and aluminum coiled wire fabrics.

Metaltone finishes are beautiful and resilient and are the perfect way to give all of your projects a look that is both unique and durable. Designers and architects have been using metallic paint and finishes for years to define style and bring distinction to the signature work they do. Metaltone metallic pigments are composed of copper, copper/zinc alloys, aluminum, or varying blends of all three. Because these pigments are pure metal, there are some limitations to their use. They cannot be used for exterior applications and high-temperature environments should be avoided. Because the nature of these pigments is to “leaf” or orient themselves near the surface of the lacquer coating, an additional acrylic clear top coat is advised whenever it is likely that a metallic finish will be exposed to excessive handling or where extra durability is required.

Calculating your stacking requirements is easy. Fill out the dimensions of your Clear Opening1 width into the dimension fields below and the stacking calculator will generate the following dimensional results:

  1. Stacking dimensions when the fabric is stacked within the clear opening using additional fullness ranging from 15-200%.
  2. Stacking for side opening and center opening.
  3. Stacking using a single or double track system.
